About the role

We are looking for a Quality Control Assistant to join our Team at our Ashburton vegetable plant. This is a full-time role, working on 12-hour shifts, 4 ON 4 OFF roster, working Night shift. Your pay rate starts from $25.39/hr. A night shift allowance of $22.50 per shift will be paid nights worked.

As a Quality Control Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Performing several chemical as well as physical testing on the products ensuring the results are within the specifications set out.  If the results do not conform, the appropriate procedure is followed.
• Performing Pre-Op checks before Production/Packout re-starts after completing wash-down.
• Foreign material reporting and action plans.
• Performing all routine quality test following procedures.
• Complying with HACCP, Food Safety, Quality and Health and Safety.

For this role, you’ll need:

• Work experience in vegetable quality management.
• Work experience in food safety & quality management.
• Work experience in microbiological/chemical testing.
• Excellent communication, time management, and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, etc.).
