About the role
We are looking for a Marine 2nd Engineer to
join the team on board our longliner FV Janas. You will take direction from the Chief Engineer and be
responsible for carrying out watchkeeping duties, maintenance of the ship's
machinery, equipment and structure.
As a Marine 2nd Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining high standards of Health and Safety practices and compliance
- Carrying out engine room watchkeeping duties, ensuring safe and efficient operations
- Operating, monitoring, and maintenance of comprehensive marine engineering systems
- Maintaining a high level of attention to detail and demonstrating a proactive approach to all duties
For this role, you’ll need:
- Marine Engineer Class 5 Certificate of Competency (MEC5)
- Previous experience as an engineer onboard a fishing vessel
- A high standard and awareness to health and safety
- Great attention to detail and a high level of enthusiasm
