Talley’s is proudly New Zealand-owned and operated. We run five deep-sea fishing vessels with primarily Kiwi crews, bringing the best New Zealand seafood to the world. Right now, we’re looking for prospective crew members who are interested in a career in deep-sea fishing.

The adventure begins with a five-day pre-employment course in Nelson, you’ll be given specialized training to get you ready for sea. We’ll put you through NZQA unit standards in health & safety, firefighting, sea survival and seafood handling.

If you’re from out of town, we’ll provide you with accommodation for the duration of the course, you just have to get yourself to Nelson.

Once you successfully complete the course, you will be shortlisted for a position on board. You can earn a competitive salary while working on our fleet of modern vessels, each equipped with comfortable cabins, typically featuring an en-suite bathroom. Most of our fleet also includes an onboard gym, Wi-Fi, and ample space for relaxation during your downtime.
