About the role
We are looking for Corn Seasonal Utility Staff to join our Team at our Ashburton vegetable plant during our corn harvesting season (Feb 2026 – April 2026). This is a seasonal role, working on 12-hour shifts, 4 ON 4 OFF roster, working either Day shift or Night shift as directed. Your starting hourly rate will be $25.39 per hour. A night shift allowance of $22.50 per shift will be paid nights worked.
As a Corn Seasonal Utility Staff, you will be responsible for:
- Providing essential operational support during the corn harvesting season by ensuring the efficient handling of bulk bins, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and assisting with product flow and quality inspection.
- Maintaining smooth, safe, and hygienic operations throughout the production process, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of vegetable processing.
- Communicating any issues or delays promptly to minimise operational disruptions.
- Monitor product levels and communicate with team members to prevent overloading or interruptions.
- Complete all required checks with accuracy and attention to detail.
For this role, you’ll need:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory — full training will be provided.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required to complete records and follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor or semi-enclosed environment.
- Physically fit and capable of standing for long periods, lifting, bending and handling repetitive tasks.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing production priorities or shift schedules.
