About the role

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chief Marine Engineer on board our longliner FV Janas.

As a Chief Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the engineering department, ensuring effective supervision, development, and performance
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all vessel machinery and engineering systems
  • Oversee planned maintenance, repairs, surveys, and major engineering projects to maintain vessel readiness and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety and maritime regulatory requirements
  • Manage engineering resources, fuel efficiency and spare parts

 

For this role, you’ll need:

  • Marine Engineer Class 4 Certificate of Competency (MEC4)
  • Previous experience as an engineer on board a fishing vessel
  • Communication, leadership and management skills
  • Highly motivated and results-driven Marine Engineer
