Chief Engineer

See the world

Talley’s is proudly New Zealand-owned and operated. We run five deep-sea fishing vessels with primarily Kiwi crews, bringing the best New Zealand seafood to the world. We’re on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer to help keep our deep-sea fishing vessel running smoothly.

We offer competitive remuneration that includes full pay while you’re not working, and the opportunity to further your career while fishing around New Zealand, Antarctica and the Western Pacific.

About the role

You would be a vital part of the team: responsible for managing the functionality and safety of the vessels' working components.  Ensuring that the performance of the vessel is running at an optimal level and keeping all the on board systems in prime condition.

You will be managing a small team on board, with support from our shoreside Engineering team, and well remunerated in return for your ability.  Working at sea for 4-6 weeks at a time on a schedule of one trip on, one trip off. While you are at home enjoying your time off, you will continue to receive your full pay.

Conditions can be challenging so being fit and healthy is a must. While onboard you will have a comfortable cabin, with an ènsuite, and most of our fleet have an onboard gym, WIFI and plenty of space to relax in your downtime.
